The Acolyte quarters were about as small as any hole in the ground Nalokk had ever had to stay in. A far cry from the accommodations he was used to on Malestare. This room in particular he was sure was even worse thanks to Overseer Harkun and his lacky Ffon. The rank alone rivaled that of the tombs he had already visited.
Making sure once more the lock was secure on his door he reached underneath his rotted cot and revealed a holo transmitter. He keyed in the encrypted command to open the subspace frequency to his Master. As he waited he kneeled before the soon to be image. It took a few seconds but soon a tall and imposing figure appeared. Standing easily at 2 meters tall, he was wearing a long robe, probably black, with a hood over his face. Nalokk could barely make out some type of activity behind the Sith Lord.
“Master…” Nalokk said bowing his head low. “Report Acolyte.” It sounded more like a growl then a sentence. “I have completed my first tasks with success. It is only a matter of time before I meet Lord Zash. Although it has been difficult. Overseer Harkun is making an example of me. Trying to push his favored Acolyte over me.” He waited for the retort before continuing. “Overseers do not concern me, eliminate your rival and complete your mission. It is of upmost important to my plans you become Lord Zash’s apprentice.” The Dark Lord answered, his tone calm yet with a deadly edge to it.
“Your will shall be done Lord Aiizen.” Nalokk said lifting his gaze to meet the holo’s. “I sense there is something more you would like to report Acolyte. Speak freely.” Darth Aiizen said tilting his head forward a bit. “Yes Master…I have also made a possible ally. Another Twi’lek…named Noshila. She is strong in the Darkside and an expert in ancient texts. She helped decipher tablets inside Tulak Hord’s tomb.” Nalokk finished. Aiizen leaned forward more, revealing all of the activity behind him. Looked like he was on the bridge of a starship, Dreadnaught class for sure. “Good…she will prove valuable to me then. If she can be counted on not to betray you along with the other Acolytes you may continue to use her for the mission at hand.” Aiizen finished. “Yes my Master…” Nalokk said. “Your thoughts betray you Acolyte…there is more isn’t there?” “There will come a time when we both will face one another for Zash’s purposes.” Even through the hood and holo transmission Nalokk could see his Master’s smile appear from the shadow. “Do what must be done, and do not fail me.” Aiizen stated with a finality that ended the transmission. “It will be done my Lord.”
Closing the communicator and returning it to the hidden spot underneath the cot Nalokk stood and walked out of his room, a group of Troopers were taking the statement of an Acolyte. Apparently there was an accident, or something…another Acoylte, a Zabrak lay dead on the floor, with saliva spewed out of her mouth. "Poisoning, how pathetically obvious…" he mumbled walking away.
